Gypsy Star: Happenings!

Gypsy Star would like to thank all the new people who have recently signed up to be on our emailing list. It was really nice to meet with you (many of you… for the first time) at our recent gigs.

Since then, we have been taking time to do more recording with our newest members for our 2^nd CD.

Gypsy Star returns to Pape Kibo's for an encore performance featuring our new 7 piece line-up.

We had a great time at Pape Kibo’s last Sunday. It was really nice to see some of you that we haven’t seen in quite a long time. Thanks for coming out to join us.

Also, as you who were there know, we had a special guest sitting in on flute and assorted woodwinds. Now we are happy to announce that Jaime Paredes has joined the Gypsy Star line-up as a new band member playing flute, woodwinds and keyboards.

That makes us a 7 piece band. I think that should be enough for now… do ya think? ;-)

We are happy to have Jaime in Gypsy Star.

We will have a special guest sitting in at this Sunday at Pape Kibo's. Jaime Peredes will be playing flute /woodwinds with us. We're looking forward to it. Hope to see you there! Don't forget to call ahead.

We'd Like to thank Su Zakar for spending so much time taking photos of the band the last few weeks. It is a pleasure working with such a creative professional... and fun too! Look for more of the photos to appear on our website and promotional materials soon!

Well, we just played the Dunedin Brewery.  Now we know... they really do have fantastic beers and terrific food.  Cool room with a friendly staff and nice patrons.  Glad to have met you all. 

Come see Gypsy Star at The Dunedin Brewery in Dunedin, Florida, tonight starting at 8:00 PM. This will be the band's first perfomance at this venue that features original music acts and is known for it's fantastic selection of beers and great food.

Don't forget to make reservations for this Sunday's shows at Pape Kibo's in Hudson, Florida.

First show ~ 5:00 - 6:30 PM

With two concerts this weekend, Gypsy Star made some new friends as well as seeing old friends. Thanks to all for coming out.

Gypsy Star is happy to announce the addition of violinist Kathy McKienzie into the band line-up. Look for her to perform with the band in the very near future.

So much for the "nice weather" on Sunday. Oh well. Even though the patio dining was a wash out we had wonderful crowds that  joined us inside for both shows in spite of the heavy rains.  Thanks for making the trip out. It was great to see friends and to meet some of you for the first time.

We're back at Pape Kibo's for another "Dinner Show" on Sunday, March 28th. This time for 2 shows ~ the 1st at 5:00 PM and the 2nd will start at 7:30 PM. Bring your significant other or a friend or two and make it a date.

The weather is getting nicer so you can dine outside in the patio if you prefer. Pape Kibo's is a great place... inside and out.

Make sure you get a seat. Call ahead for RESERVATIONS!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Once again, we had lots of fun playing to another fantastic audience at Pape Kibo's. Nice meeting some of you for the first time as well as seeing our Gypsy Star friends there. Thanks to all who came out and made it a great night. Oh... did we mention the food? Compliments to the chef! 

After a great first outing at Pape Kibo's in Hudson, Florida, we decided to do it all again... and so, we are. 

Gypsy star will, again, perform at Pape Kibo's on Sunday, March 14th. So join us... especially if you didn't make it out last time. It's a very cool place with great food and an intimate atmosphere.

We had a great time playing to an enthusiastic audience this past Sunday at Pape Kibo's Bistro in Hudson.  Cool place! Terrific food!

Gypsy Star is very saddened to hear about the untimely passing of guitarist and Encore Music co-owner Brian Trapani. Our condolences and prayers go out for his family. A genuinely nice guy, he will be missed by many.

Just a note to let you know that our Guestbook is back.  It's been a while, so we've included some comments from the past to get things going again.

With new faces and new songs the emphasis has been on getting those songs recorded and released as a new CD. 

Now that the recording project is well under way, we are also in the process of getting back into performing live.  

Gypsy Star would like to welcome vocalist/percussionist and original member, Belinda Brodsky, who will be joining us at our upcoming gig at Pape Kibo’s.

Happy Valentine's Day!

There have been many changes in the last couple of years… and while things may have slowed down from time to time, the band continued to move forward.

During that time, new songs were being written and now have become part of Gypsy Star’s play list.

And so now, Gypsy Star has begun work on their second CD. The recording of all new original songs has already started with the goal of a summer release date.

 We will keep you updated on our progress.
